PokerTH Web Client — last updated [DATE]
Template to complete. Replace the bracketed placeholders ([OPERATOR], [CONTACT], [DATE], [JURISDICTION]) and have it reviewed before publishing. This is not legal advice.
This policy explains what data the PokerTH Web Client (the “App”), operated by [OPERATOR], collects and why. The App lets you play PokerTH in your browser. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage statistics. We count page visits and store a random identifier in your browser to count distinct devices, connections per server, and whether a visit comes from a new or returning device. These statistics contain no name and no IP address.
- Local preferences. Your settings (theme, language, options) and the anonymous identifier are stored in your browser’s local storage. Only the anonymous identifier leaves your device, solely to produce the anonymous counts above.
- Leaderboard. If you play on a ranked server, the nickname you choose and your game results are recorded to display rankings.
- Technical data. Like any web service, our server receives connection data (including your IP address) needed to deliver and secure the App. It is used only to operate and protect the service, never to build advertising profiles.
Why we use it (legal basis)
We process this data under our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the App and in showing game rankings. The usage statistics are anonymous and aggregated.
Sharing
We do not show ads, sell your data, or use third-party advertising trackers. When you connect to pokerth.net, you also use the official PokerTH service, which is operated independently and has its own terms.
Retention
Anonymous statistics are kept for about 13 months and then removed. You can clear the locally stored data at any time from your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (for example your leaderboard entry), and you may object to its processing. To make a request, contact [CONTACT].
